Beaufort Pirate Invasion

Get ready to set sail on an epic adventure at the Beaufort Pirate Invasion! This annual event commemorates Beaufort’s pirate history and other related historic events with plenty of fun and informative events to thrill all ages. After more than 60 years, the festival involve various recreations of the Spanish invasion as well as events recognizing the long history of pirates and shipping along this stretch of the Carolina coast. Today, pirates hold a special fascination, in part due to their autonomy and daring deeds.

The festival takes place around Gallants Channel from September 22-24, 2023. There are also special ticketed events, such as Blackbeard’s Masquerade Ball on Saturday evening. Gates open at 5 pm on Friday with special vendors and a kids’ area. The first pirate attack on Beaufort Hotel starts at 6 pm and kicks off the marauding and more! A wealth of attacks, memorials, and more take place all weekend, including Blackbeard’s Last Stand: The Battle of Ocracoke.

  • Morehead City Christmas Parade. Saturday, December 10, 2022, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. As one of the oldest events in the city, the annual parade takes place along the heart of downtown, from 17th and Arendell Streets to 6th and Arendell Street. There’s a wonderful mix of music, floats, and festivities within the parade, as well as the surrounding area, thanks to various food trucks and local restaurants. The parade includes plenty of creative floats from community groups and local businesses, and there are wonderful performances from school marching bands and dance teams to get the Christmas celebration off to a festive start.
  • Gingerbread Festival & Competition. Saturday, December 10 – Sunday, December 11, 2022, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The annual Gingerbread Festival at the Crystal Coast Civic Center, also in Morehead, is sure to get you in the holiday spirit, with mouth-watering aromas and amazing gingerbread displays. This free event allows visitors to view the gingerbread creations and vote on them, but there’s much more to enjoy. Kids will enjoy the crafts and face painting, and everyone will enjoy the beautifully decorated Crab Pot Christmas Trees, and even a visit with Santa, who is making a special appearance! Since you’ll probably be hungry, there will be delicious concessions and holiday sweets to round out your experience.
  • Crystal Coast Christmas Flotilla. Saturday, December 10, 2022, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. This local tradition has taken place for more than 25 years. The Crystal Coast Christmas Flotilla runs from downtown Beaufort to the Morehead City waterfront and features an impressive array of vessels that include sailboats, yachts, kayaks, commercial vessels, and any other boat imaginable, all decked out in their best holiday decorations. It’s truly a sight to behold, with thousands of festive lights and decorations reflecting in the water. Just viewing the flotilla is a wonderful experience, but at the end, everyone is invited to the Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center, where prizes will be given out and the community can gather for a wonderful time.
  • Olde-Fashioned Holiday Market. Saturday, December 17, 2022, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The Olde Beaufort Farmers’ Market will be transformed into the Olde-Fashioned Holiday Market, where you’ll find more than 90 vendors in festively decorated tents offering amazing items that are all homegrown, homemade, and handmade. Farmers, fishermen, bakers, and artisans will all be offering their local wares that are perfect for holiday meals and holiday gifts, so be sure to take your shopping bags! This beautiful outdoor market is full of holiday cheer and wonderful aromas and is a perfect family outing.

BeauCoast Gives Back

Now is the time of year when people often think about the things for which they are thankful and how they can share their bounty with others. Beau Coast is a community that is much more than just beautiful homes in Beaufort NC, we make it a priority to be a part of the success of the greater community throughout the year. We give back to the local Carteret County community, and we like to give back to the wonderful residents of Beau Coast.

Preston Development Company, the developer of Beau Coast, has sponsored the Annual Beaufort Wine and Food Oyster Roast for the past 8 years. The popular Oyster Roast has taken place in Beau Coast’s Peninsula for last two years and is a sold-out event. Since its inception in 2005, Beaufort Wine and Food has focused on a core group of local charities as recipients for the proceeds from the events. Through the generosity and support from sponsors, members, and wine and culinary participants, Beaufort Wine and Food has donated more than $970,000 for local non-profits. The recipients of this year’s Oyster Roast were:  Scott Eckholdt Summer Camp Series benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plain and Carteret County Youth; Hope Mission of Morehead City; and Martha’s Mission Cupboard.

We’ve also just held our Fifth Annual Food and Blood Drive, sponsored by Preston Development Company and Streamline Developers. With the motto of “Give Blood, Give Food, Give Thanks”, our residents have done just that. The blood drive was held on November 8, and the food drive ran through November 15. To thank our residents for their donations, each blood donation and each full bag of groceries donated earned residents’ entries for one of three Thanksgiving Dinners for Eight people from Beaufort Grocery Company. The food donations were given to Martha’s Mission Food Pantry.

In an act of appreciation for the great residents of Beau Coast, Preston Development Company hosted an event on the Club House lawn. Exclusive to Beau Coast homeowners, this wonderful social event included a pig pickin’ catered by local Fat Fellas restaurant, drinks were served by the one and only Beaufort Grocery Company and the great Embers Band provided tremendous entertainment. Our development team really enjoyed getting to meet and mingle with the wonderful people who call Beau Coast home.

Beau Coast is a special place to be, with a great sense of community.
