Beaufort Historic Site – Stop in to learn about Beaufort’s cultural and historical heritage.

Fisherman’s Park – Located on Front Street, Fisherman’s Park is perfect for a picnic. You will enjoy swimming in the sandy beach, canoeing, kayaking, or paddle boarding. This is an ideal place for a day trip with the family or a low key time.

North Carolina Maritime Museum at Beaufort – A great place to take your family and friends, the North Carolina Maritime Museum at Beaufort depicts the culture and environment of coastal North Carolina as well its maritime history. This includes lighthouses, motorboats, the seafood industry, and so much more! Though admission is free of cost, donations are welcomed.

Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve – It consists of several islands with beautiful beaches, salt marshes, wild horses, and other wildlife of the area. This site protects representative coastal and estuarine ecosystems for educational purposes and research.

Radio Island Beach Access – This off the beaten beak location is one you are sure to love. The waters are perfect for water activities such as fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and swimming. Plus there are several trails for you to enjoy.

Shackleford Banks – Only accessible by boat or ferry, Shackleford Banks is a nature lover’s paradise. More than 100 horses call this home as well as seabirds and various sea animals. You can also enjoy shelling, a swim or hike here.
